Hikes with Daddy

The girls love to go and "collect nature." One of their favorite things to do is go on a hike with Daddy. It was freezing when they went this time, but when they came home they couldn't stop talking about what they did and what they found. Their faces were bright red from the cold, but they didn't even comment about the cold weather. Incidentally, it was Anderson's first Daddy Hike. He loved it!

This goaround, I only found about 8 or 9 rocks and nuts in the washer & dryer. They emptied out most of their discoveries when they got home. They are very good at storing things in hidden pockets I didn't even know existed....

Boooooooow

Anderson doesn't say a whole lot of words. He says Mommm, Dat and Boow. Booow means Ball. So, when I tell people Anders doesn't talk much in front of Alexandra, she looks at me and says, "Mom! He says bow (with perfect pronunciation) and ut oh!" He loooooooves balls. And cars. Very typical boy and it's fun for us - the boy thing is REAL and we're learning it first hand. New experiences are fun and this no exception. Anderson is full blown entertainment. We are all always laughing at him, every single day. He is funny and silly, busy and scary.

Anyway, we keep the balls in this corner cab of the playroom. They are hidden accessed through a removable piece in the cabinet. Anders will climb up the cabinet and scream, over and over and over, Booooooooow! Boooooooow! Booooooooow! until I come to him and say, Anders, do you want a Ball? He smiles and says Bow!

Sometimes he makes me tired b/c I never know which one he wants. So, yesterday I just put him inside the cabinet, he said bow, bow, bow over and over and stayed in there for probably 20 minutes before he was done.
In these pictures he is DIRTY, but I had to post them.

Big Blue Man

Here's the girls favorite exhibit at the DMA today. It's the "big blue man" talking to a little man - little man located on the floor in front of big man's feet. Lexi wondered outloud, "what is the big blue man made of? I mean, the little man is probably a Homie, but I can't tell what the big guy is made of."

Sadly, our daughters know the word Homie. They sell these little figurines, called "Homies" in gumball machines all over town. Daddy has a collection and gives the duplicates to the girls. At least he used to...
