While the girls are away, the boys will play

The girls had their big fun camp week at The Pines.  While they were away, it was fun to hang with my boys.  I took them to see a movie at the mall and they were sooo wild at the mall it was hard to get pictures of them.  But, I got a few.  Anderson loves Whit so much.

Anderson loves to go see the wild peacocks that roam in a neighborhood by our pool.  So, I drove by for him to see them again....

I tried to talk Anderson into getting a haircut for our upcoming family pictures.  He was NOT having it, kept repeating how he wants to be "shaggy."  So, I talked him into just talking to the hairdresser to see if she could clean up above his ears.  We went into the place and she did not help my plan.  In fact, she said, "NO, don't cut his hair.  Just put product in it.  Like this!"  She proceeded to load his hair up with some goop.  We went straight from her place to basketball.  His hair went WILD during the game.

I'm glad we ended up not cutting it.  His hair ended up looking great in our family pictures.  I need to listen to this boy more.  He knows what he likes!

Through the pink smoke

The last two weekends have been a really fun time.  Our friends invited us to stay at their lake house and play....  They are so sweet to open their home to our giant family, we are forever grateful for the fun times we have had.  The kids wakeboarded, played hoops, horseshoes, we grilled, set off fireworks, saw an AMAZING Texoma fireworks show, and we laughed.  A lot.  Great memories!  Simple fun times...  And, yes, that's an Amphicar.  CRAZY to see in person!

After the first weekend out at Texoma the kids did a wakeboard camp.  They LOOOOVED it.  It was such an extra cool place.  All 3 finally got up!  Really fun for them.  Stan made it out the last day and got to show off and attempt some tricks.  He loved it too.  That got them ready for wakeboarding the next weekend.

This was Lexi going to the end, she crashed on this video but after the first day she was going round and round even though the very last turn tripped her up sometimes.

The boys play a lot of hoops at our friends house.  The dad's finally got in on the action.  Stan had some good ballet poses! ;)  Ha!!  Of course the pogo stick got daddy into full swing!  He and the kids staged a fireworks/smokebomb/pogo show!  LOL!!!!!!!

Summer action

We have had a active summer so far.  We are considering selling the house and it took a lot of work to clean things up to get it ready to show people. So that was the biggest time sucker for me in June.  But now things are calming down.....  Kids have been having a great summer break so far.

I'm starting to enjoy baseball more and more watching this little boy play.  He had a good time playing summer baseball with the Y.

Here is Alexandra with her friends, she went to a decats dance with her friends and they had so much fun.  It was fun being the ones who picked them up from the dance, you get lots of info from cute chattery 12 year olds...  I love it. They are still so darn sweet.

Here were the sweeties on their 2nd to last day of DECATS - last day riding the bus.  Bus mystic finally disapated. Here is AG with her best buddy, they had a cheerleading performace!  It was EXTRA cute!

Whitaker took some swim lessons.  They did not go to well.... He was not having it.  I can tell, he is already a control freak!  But he did have some extremely CUTE and sweet moments.  It was good for him.

Stan's work had work party at the Perot Museum.  It was awesome, no lines and lots of food and treats.  Great family fun.  Here was lulu working on that serve!

17th Anniversary, Awards and Summery stuff

On our 17th Anniversary we had an 80's party to attend.  It was a super fun party.  My crimper from 7th grade is still in perfect working condition.  My mom is quite the preserver of historical objects! ;)  Thanks, Mom!  Meet the Sizzle Lite.

On the last day of school the girls got their Blue Bonnet and Million Words awards.  They are busy little readers during the school year, I love that they get a special acknowledgment.  For the Bluebonnet award they got to wear blue jeans one day at school and walk to Burger House from the school and get a free burger and shake!  It's such a fun incentive.  I think only five 4th graders read all 20 Bluebonnet books!   We have a great librarian.  AG read 1.4 million words and Alexandra read 3 something million words.  WOW.

Summer is kicked off.  Anderson is playing baseball and basketball and attending some sports camps.  The girls are playing basketball and volleyball.  Plus, the girls were both accepted to DECATS this year (Debusk Enrichment Center for the Academically Talented Scholars!).  AG feel so special and is so happy to get to go....  Lexi is at Sr. Decats and Ainsley Grace is at Jr. Decats.  Both are riding the bus for about 2 hours EVERYDAY!  They were so excited for the bus element because it was new.  Now they get that the bus is not all it's cracked up to be.  They are officially over it. ;)  It makes for a long day for them.... But they really are having a great time.

Bonus pictures. Summer popsicle tongue.

My sweet friend Kammie.  She is so fun to be around and talk to.  Thank goodness our oldest kids brought us together.  We took the kids to Steel City Pops.  YUM.

We were hanging out at the pool and my husband brought his wife the white wine she likes.  But no cups!  Gasp!  So he Macgyvered me a cup with his pocket knife. :-)  Class in a Glass!

Alexandra with some friends going to see a movie.   She looks so teenagery. :(

Anderson did a fun Harlem Globetrotters clinic.  Super cute and fun.  He hung out with Cheese and Sweet J.  They were fabulous with the kids, Anderson LOVED it.  It cracked me up how he punched the ball as he spun.... funny.
