First Day of School and Boys (I may need help here......)

First day of school (3-5-7). My "shaggy" son refusing to smile bc his sister sat on the barstool when he got up to change his socks. Of course he doesn't want a haircut either. Whomever said boys were easier was full of it!  But happy first day of school to all the sweet sleepy headed STA kids!! My kids were genuinely excited to go to school today even though they were sad summer is ending....

Before school started we got some chores done.  I had 1 helping me scrub our rugs clean. 1 organizing under the sink. The other two "helping" by holding the hose for me. Boys v Girls.  Humph.

A week before school starts the school posts your homeroom class which then starts a frenzy of texting streams to determine who is grouped with whom.  My daughter went to complete freak out mode bc classes were supposed to be posted at 10.... Here she is still waiting at 10:50. She may have some patience issues like her mamma.  They did end up posting at 11.  Only an hour late!  That was one looong hour.

As much as boys seem so much harder to me.  They could not be sweeter.  I know everyone out there probably gets it.  But, I just can't describe the love I have for these boys.  Just a complete gift from God.  No other being can have this kind of love.  Here they are at one of our last pool outings....

Laziness, penance and a zoo trip

Summertime is so much fun.  No guilt laziness.  We have spent a ton of time at the pool, movies, mall, bed dwelling, running errands and watching TV.  Even Roosevelt is tuckered out.  One day we were at the pool and the weather has been so mild in Dallas, they had to bring sweatshirts for when they got out of the water.  Yes, SWEATSHIRTS in July/August in Dallas!  Unheard of.  LOVED IT.

For penance for all the laziness(not COMPLETELY guilt free...), we went on a 3 mile jog/walk/park stop.  They are so cute.  Even with the whining... They did great.

Alexandra loves to ride her bike to the library for us.  She drops off and does our pickups.  She loves the freedom.  I love GPS on iPhone!

We took Whitaker to his very first Zoo trip!  As you would guess, he LOVED it.  But the train ride stole the show!  He fell asleep within 5 minutes of being buckled up.  We will go back sooooon.

He got dressed up and was told to repeat, "I'm a beast, I'm a beast!"

Summer is slipping away from us.... But the kids have been resting and playing.  All is good.
