Sick Day

Alexandra got hurt before her ballet recital. She still performed beautifully, but I had to carry her to the car!

I **think** she will be okay, it's the top of her foot. But, she is unable to walk flat footed. Something is hurting her. I'll take her in on Tuesday after she rests it.

Anyway, today the KC Pool opened up. Daddy is taking Ainsley and Anderson but, I'm keeping Lexi home b/c of her foot. So, we're having Mommy Lexi time...

While they were getting ready for the pool, we played setup.

She's in 1st grade

I'm always pleasantly surprised by the neat things that go on at the girls school. It's such a sweet place for them to be. Today was our first Graduation Ceremony also known as Move Up Day.

Alexandra has been in the same class for 3 1/2 years. Her teachers know her better than anyone. The teachers gave a speech about each child. Of course, I was balling during Lexi's. It was so sweet, kind and very thoughtful. It was so special, it's hard to explain.

She is proud of herself and can't wait until 1st grade. She'll be in "Lower Elementary 1" for the next 3 years. 2 incredible teachers await her.

Her Aunt Shellie came to support her and when she saw her she grinned ear to ear. Such a big moment for her today.

Mrs. Akin. The woman responsible for teaching a Kindergartner, Multiplication, Division, Reading & Cursive. She also taught her kindness, respect, manners and made her feel special and useful and important.

Mrs. Bolano. Here is the sweet teacher responsible for Lexi's amazing Spanish understanding and great accent. She has taught her sign language and a love of music and composers. All of this is "fun" for her.

Her Diploma!

Recital Time

Ainsley had her first violin recital. She was not nervous and did great. At the recital, they line the children up in the first row. When someome asks Ainsley how she did at her recital, she says, "I was first!" With a huge smile on her face....

Lexi played her piece, Lightly Row, very well and was not nervous, either. Not sure when that sets in, or if it ever will.... Piano & Dance coming up soon.

Won't budge

He refused to come inside yesterday so he could stay outside and watch contruction workers in our alley for about an hour and a half. When we drive he yells "momma truc!" over and over until I say, "yes, truck." As soon as he sees another one, "momma truc!" He is a funny little man right now.

Ander's social skills

If the girls and I are doing something together and Anderson stumbles upon us, he stands away from us and watches and says, "Hi" with a low tone and a half wave. Then he puts his hands down or in his pocket and kind of stands there watching before he turns around and walks off. He is the sweetest thing I've ever known.

Here he is wanting to play with the girls but just playing with his trucks. He is holding a truck about 80% of the time.

Here is he with his fake teeth.

Contemplative Monastery

We have a friend who works for the Tulsa World and he put together this slide show for an assignment he did at this Benedictine Contemplative Monastery (apparently the only one in the United States).
It's called Clear Creek - check out the link:
