My own Fancy Nancy

Ainsley went to the cutest Fancy Nancy birthday party at the school.

This picture was her after the party - she stayed fancy the rest of the day until bedtime.

Everything about Ainsley Grace is a little fancy in the way she talks, things she likes and things she does.

Instead of saying, "wait mom, hang on." She'll say, "One moment, Mother. " "Yes, Mother" "One moment, please!"

When she gets dressed, she always comes up with something to tie onto something she is wearing to make a little extra creative and cute.

When she eats (she gets this from Stan) nothing is ever on her face and if it is, she hops up quickly to get a napkin to wipe her little mouth. She amazes me how clean of an eater she is??!!

When she wakes up in the morning, she'll walk in my room, kiss me then walk out. She is alway drawing pictures for everyone she has ever met. If you know her, there is a picture somewhere in this house for you.

She has decided (for years now, really) that she much prefers to be called "Gracie Rose" then Ainsley Grace. So, I accomodate her as much as possible.

Anything that has a Rose on it (her favorite flower since she could say flower) she wants it, loves it, identifies with it. She is such a beautiful rose. Layers of beauty and kindness. Her heart is soft and so big.

I hope she never changes, she is so precious. It's hard to believe her next birthday she will be SEVEN (She keeps reminding me)!

I love you Gracie Rose!

Self-Imposed Snow Day in Dallas!

Snow!! We woke up to a winter wonderland. Believe it or not the schools did NOT close. There was noooo way I was sending the kids to school on a day like this, though. Honestly, I do not remember snow this good in 16 years - since I've lived in Dallas. We have had such a wonderful and special morning so so much fun. The kids had a complete blast.

This is the FIRST TIME the kids have made a snowman! Yay!!!

Bowling Night

We loaded up the team and went bowling!

Alexandra has told us for 2 days now how much fun Saturday Night was. Here she is getting mad at the direction of her ball. She'd watch it until it hit and turn around with a mad face every time.

I wish I had a video of Anderson. He is so strong, he put his fingers in the ball. Walked it over to the lane. Then, threw it straight down. We'd all whence and then it would slowly roll all the way down. He even got a strike!
Here is daddy winning and Lexi taking pictures. ;)

Sweet Ainsley had so much fun. After her first turn, "Mom, can we play more than one game?" You'll have 10 turns Ainlsey. After turn, 2. "Mom, can we play more than one game?" And so on.... She loved it.

Final Score. How the kids beat me is beyond me. I want a rematch.
The bowling allies have bumpers for the kids, nowadays. They program the bumper to rise up everytime it's their turn. Pretty cool. Wonder if I could get the bumpers....

The Boy

Anderson is the sweetest thing on the planet. I know of nothing he could do different then he does now... He is totally funny - here is some of our recent dialog.

[Anderson] Mom are my eyes black?
[Mom] No baby, they are a yummy chocolaty brown.

a week later....

[Anderson] Mom are my eyes black?
[Mom] No baby, they are a yummy chocolaty brown...
[Anderson] Mom, are you sure they aren't black?
[Mom] Yes, I'm sure. Why do you think that?

a shrug....

a week later....

[Anderson] Mom are my eyes black?
[Mom] No baby...??? Anderson, do you want your eyes to be black?
[Anderson] Yes!! I want to be mean and you have to have black eyes.

[Mom] Oh, yes, your eyes are black as coal!!!
[Anderson with big eyes and claws] Rarrrrrr!

Sitting on the barstool in the kitchen....

[Anderson] Mommy, you are my princess.
[Mom] Aahhh, thank you buddy. I love you.
[Anderson] I love you Mommy, more than you love me. And you are MYY princess.
[Mom - speechless]

a few days later....

[Anderson yelling from another room] "Mommy! ... Mommy! ...I mean, my princess!"
[Mom] Oh, yes honey!??!

So, now instead of saying, "moooom" hey says "my princess" most of the time.

And, finally.

[Mom] Good morning buddy!
[Anderson - waking up in his batman jammies] Mommy, don't call me Anderson. I'm batman because I protect you from the Monsters!

Our super fabulous babysitter is one of my good friends Mom's. She is from Mexico and raised 5 children. She totally loves Anderson, too. She refers to the kids as "Lexi, Ainsley and The Boy."

My heart is sooo swollen.
