Mommy Time and Valentines Day

"Has Anderson been missing the girls while they are at school?" This is the question I get repeatedly and the answer to that is a BIG NO! Haha. As much as he loves them around to have someone to play with, he is all about having more time to tell me stories and run around with me. It's been really sweet.

Here is the poor little guy on 1 and a half teaspoons of Benadryl. I took him out to have Breakfast for Lunch at Metro Diner. He almost fell asleep on his food. I barely got him home in time, he feel asleep on the couch within 2 minutes of walking in the door!


We had our Valentines Celebration Sunday night since Daddy doesn't come home on Monday's. Kids loooved it. Candy presents, balloons and cupcakes!

Weather in Dallas is back to normal. Whew. Yesterday was in the high 60's. That is the Dallas I know and love. Hello sunshine!

*snow* day, finally

Snow day #4 plan has been altered. We woke up to snow. Sooo pretty.

Trooper...

Snow Day! I mean, Snow Week.

Well, our snow day ended up being a snow week due to the ice dump all over poor Dallas. We just don't know what to do with all that ice here... Then, I have been sick all week to boot so I didn't make the snow week super fun for the kids, but it was really nice to be home.

Sunday: Sick, clammy, chills, dizzy almost fainted during Mass and had to leave early. While I laid in bed the rest of the day, Daddy had to punt on studying and take the kids to the school art show and to violin. All went okay.

Monday: I thought I felt good until during carpool I passed the house I was supposed to pull up in because I was so spacey. I came home after drop off and never left the bed again, except to open the door for the girls after school - my friend brought them home.

Tuesday: Snow Day! Kids got to play outside, we made snow ice cream and I stayed in bed the majority of the day. Kitchen sink pipes froze, dishwasher and the downstairs toilet. No bueno.

Wednesday: Another snow day. Still felt super sick, laid in bed all day. Stan went 1905 on us and took hot water from the sink in the powder bath and hand washed dishes in the sink. I almost passed out when I walked downstairs the next day and saw the clean sink. Really impressive.

Thursday: Snow day #3 and I woke up feeling goodish. Actually made the kids breakfast (with pants, jammies, daddies sweatshirt and UGH boots of course). Cleaned a bit, paid some bills and pulled the shades and watched movies in bed with the kids. Daddy had to work. It's nice having the kids home. They are sewing, fighting, playing, dressing up, arguing... It's all good stuff.

Friday: So the plan for snowday #4: 1. Bathe 2. Make homemade valentines 3. Nurse sick son who I infected b/c he still loves to sleep with mommy and daddy (working on that before baby #4 comes - no real progress, yet....) ;) He such a snuggle buggler.

Here is a picture from my friend. While everyone around seems to be going stir crazy, I've enjoyed just being home all week. But, I am dreaming of my shades, tank tops, lucy skirts and my jcrew flip-flops to be sure... Looking forward to having running water again.... Maybe Saturday.

MLK Day

While Daddy spent allll day studying, we spent allll day running around. It was great fun. We cleaned the house (their favorite), met some friends for Ice Skating, had a fabulous lunch at Dream Cafe', then we went to the Science Place. After that, we ran home for Piano and then left for violin.

After our action packed day was finished we came home to a clean house.... Ahhhhhhh. Have I ever mentioned how much I loooove my cleaning lady? Seriously. But, I digress....

Here is Anderson with his buddy C.J. Anderson is still taking his Homeschool Ice Skating lessons and he is really learning a lot. My little 4 year old doesn't even hold the sides, skates right in the middle and turns around... Cute stuff.

Here are the cuties at the Science Place. They love to make the Hot Air Balloon rise - such a fun exhibit.

Ready for School

What a week we have had. It was very emotional for all of us. The girls were very excited to get started at St. Thomas Aquinas. We have their closet and dresser and vanity all organized. They loooove their uniforms and no one on this planet loves their uniforms more than ME. The girls are jumping out of bed in the mornings excited to get ready. Wonder how long this will last...

Ainlsey Grace's first week was incredible. Mrs. Wendorf, the Barbie Doll teacher who apparently is the "toughest 1st grade teacher" but the children don't know because they love her so much. Sure enough, Ainsley cannot stop talking about her. Seriously, Ainsley already LOVES her. Mrs. Wendorf emailed me the first day in the middle of the day just to tell me how great Ainsley was doing. Ainsley has made several friends all ready and kind of the rock star of 1st grade because she is the new kid. She is having sooo many good and happy feelings. She tells me how the kids are chasing her on the playground and about all her new friends. Soo much fun. If nothing else she has had a fabulous start! Plus, the teacher has told how smart she is and put her in the hardest reading group. This makes Ainsley feel soooo good, OF COURSE! Mommy and Daddy, too. :)

Alexandra is also having a smooth, happy ans wonderful start. I am already fielding playdate requests. She loooves her locker, I bought her some cool stuff for it and she has it all organized. Her teacher also emailed me the first day in the middle of the day to tell me how great everything was going. She is working hard on all the work and just loves this big kid atmosphere. She is doing great with the school work and she is loving so many different aspects so far. I'm really glad she is having the good feelings since I think leaving White Rock Montessori was hardest on her. She has a picture of her friends in her locker from WRM just so they can still be with her. Sooo sweet! Here is my little sweetheart.

Thanks to all the St. Thomas Aquinas mom's for all the emails, invitations and open arms. All of the attention has made our first week wonderful. Thank you, thank you! Thanks also for all my friends and White Rock mom's for checking in with me all week long making sure we are okay. I love all my WRM friends so much.

Christmastime Piano and Last Field Trip

The Christmas Piano Recital was wonderful this year. The girls did great, Ainsley really worked hard to overcome a hard song. So proud of her. I love this picture of them - they were joking around before the recital got started... They are so funny together.

For our last field trip of homeschooling, we went to see Santa Claus and go Ice Skating. It was a wonderful last adventure together.
